This is the result of C2 when it fails. These pictures were taken 15 seconds after failure. There was a loud crack and spitting followed by smoke rising from the vents. Power was removed immediately and the room vented. The capacitor can be seen through a vent looking a bit charred. The smell is quite strong and lingers in the air.

This is how the capacitor looked after taking apart the power supply casing. As can be seen the capacitor has blown apart.
